Abstract

Janet Chan is Professor in the School of Social Sciences and International Studies at the University of New South Wales. She has published extensively on police culture and police use of information technology. Her books include Reshaping Juvenile Justice (ed. 2005); Fair Cop: Learning the Art of Policing (2003), with Devery and Doran; e-Policing (2001), with Brereton, Legosaz and Doran; Changing Police Culture (1997); and the trilogy on crime in the mass media: Visualizing Deviance, Negotiating Control and Representing Order (1987, 1989 and 1991), with Ericson and Baranek.
