Whilst it is increasingly recognised that ecosystems contribute to the well-being of the poor, we are now only beginning to unpick the myriad relationships between changes in ecosystem services and poverty across various contexts. Much more work is needed, with a core question being how we can manage ecosystems for the benefit of contemporary poor people as well as future generations.
