How do we experience the spaces we inhabit? How do we know where we are? Is looking enough, or do we need to listen as well? In order to find out, next time you enter a space, close your eyes and just listen. What do you hear? Does being in this space sound different from being outside of it? How do your footsteps sound? How does the acoustics of this space make you feel? Now open your eyes. Do the sonic impressions match what you see? Is there some kind of conflict between the sonic and the visual as you experienced it? Do they reinforce each other?
