Abstract

Scandinavia comprises three countries: Denmark, Sweden and Norway. These three countries lie in the northern part of Europe and share a relatively cold climate, although there is great variation among the different seasons of the year. The winters are quite cold and snowy in the northern parts of Scandinavia, while the climate is milder in the southern parts, where winters are more wet than snowy. The coastal regions usually have milder winters than the inland areas. The summer climate also varies a great deal, and while Denmark and the southern parts of Sweden and Norway have quite warm and stable temperatures during summer, the northern regions are colder.
