Abstract

Trust and its counterpart trustworthiness have played important roles in the development of both feminist ethics and feminist epistemology. This chapter focuses on their role in feminist epistemology, particularly insofar as trust and trustworthiness have been crucial concepts in feminist attempts to draw attention to the ethical dimensions of our epistemic practices (Code 1991; 1995) while coming to terms with the inherently social nature of knowledge-seeking (Grasswick 2013), as seen in part through our deep epistemic interdependence through testimony.
