Abstract

From the beginning, I have sought to connect strategy and entrepreneurship, especially in global high-technology industries. Extending over three decades, my research has taken many detours only to arrive where I started as a freshman at Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt. There I was first introduced to the themes of globalism, technology, and entrepreneurship – terms that were vaguely mentioned in my classes but rarely discussed with seriousness. Today, these terms are widely accepted globally, as well as debated by serious scholars, insightful managers and entrepreneurs, and informed policy makers in advanced and emerging economies.
