Abstract

Julian Henriques is Professor, convenor of the MA Scriptwriting and MA Cultural Studies programmes, and director of the Topology Research Unit in the Department of Media and Communications, Goldsmiths, University of London. Prior to this, Julian ran the film and television department at CARIMAC at the University of the West Indies, Kingston, Jamaica. His credits as a writer and director include the reggae musical feature film Babymother (1998) and as a sound artist on “Knots & Donuts” (2011) at Tate Modern. Julian researches street cultures and technologies and has published Changing the Subject (Routledge, 1998), Sonic Bodies (Bloomsbury Press, 2011) and Sonic Media (forthcoming).
