Abstract

About 20 years ago, while searching for post-doctoral training, I discovered there were fellowships available at two prominent cancer centers. I felt an immediate attraction to the idea of helping individuals in the midst of existential crises that would give meaning and depth to the work. I later found a fellowship with the editors of this handbook. But before I could begin, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
