Abstract

“What can I know?” From its very beginning, philosophical reflection has been concerned with the objects and methods of certain knowledge. Plato and Aristotle divided the realm of what is knowable and assigned different epistemological principles to the individual parts. As a result of their deliberations, they developed divisions of philosophy (i.e. science) in which they also discussed the methodological requirements for its different branches.
