Abstract

Human beings wish to be happy. Most people’s daily thoughts and actions have the end goal of achieving, maintaining or salvaging happiness (Tomasulo and Pawelski, 2012). Throughout history, philosophers, priests, artists and self-help authors have struggled to understand what happiness is and how people can have more of it in their lives (Tomasulo and Pawelski, 2012). This struggle has produced myriad definitions of happiness, resulting in much ambiguity and little consensus.
