Abstract

New technologies and media consist of blends of digital technologies, practices and social arrangements that people use to enable and extend their ability to share meaning, communicate through shared technical resources and build large networked communities (Lievrouw, 2011). Increasingly integrated into second language programmes, new technologies challenge ELT professionals to reconsider how they design, teach and assess their courses (Lotherington and Jenson, 2011).
