Research in the area of resilience has grown tremendously during the past few decades. Resilience is an expedition involving the growth and transformation of an individual, which are considered vital for survival. It is a process of endurance that depends on multiple factors involving one’s capability to remain flexible during adversities, adapting to the ongoing changes occurring in life and recuperating at a faster pace by building on own strengths. The cumulative effect of these factors depends on an individual’s resilient skills, which are dynamic in nature. Resilience is an important aspect for understanding how human beings deal with stressors and recover constructively in the face of crisis by remaining positive and compliant in nature. According to Luthar (2006), resilience refers to positive adaptation despite adversity. It relates to acknowledging change as a means towards continuous growth and prosperity that enhances strengths and deals with vulnerabilities. It is a universal ability to spring back from negative influences and convalesce from illness and the feelings of hopelessness.
