Abstract

The literature and popular press abounds with prescriptions for how organizations should seek to enhance the wellbeing of their workforce. From workplace health promotion efforts (e.g., wellness programs, incentives for getting healthy, gym memberships) to work-life initiatives (e.g., flextime, telecommuting, adequate time off) to practices fostering a more positive work environment (e.g., creating a culture of recognition, quirky and playful workspace design, pets in the office) to countless other recommendations, there are certainly ample resources available to assist organizations in thinking through ways to enhance worker wellbeing.
