Abstract

Phil Galdston (PG) is a songwriter, producer, and music publisher. More than 130 million copies of his songs and productions have appeared on more than 80 million records worldwide. “Save the Best For Last,” recorded by Vanessa Williams and cowritten with Jon Lind and Wendy Waldman, is undoubtedly his best-known song. It simultaneously topped Billboard’s charts for three weeks and was nominated for a GRAMMY as Song of the Year. He is a music professor, director of songwriting, and faculty songwriter-in-residence at New York University (NYU)’s Steinhardt School. He is also one of the founders of MusicAnswers, a rapidly growing organization of more than 3,800 songwriters, composers, performers, and producers seeking to protect and preserve rights in the digital age.
