Abstract

Environmental change, mobility and development are closely connected, and are important considerations for the World Bank and its goals of eradicating extreme poverty and boosting shared prosperity. In recent years, the World Bank’s Global Knowledge Partnership on Migration and Development (KNOMAD) has established a thematic working group on environmental change and migration, displacement and relocation that aims to improve the evidence base for policy making and practice in this critical area. This chapter describes the key issues and areas of engagement on these issues for the working group and the World Bank more broadly.
