Until the 1970s, Saturday classified football papers, whether in the shape of regional “Pink 'Uns” or monochrome editions of London evening titles such as the Evening Standard and the Evening News, were integral to the English weekend, supplying match reports and results to supporters travelling home from games and those unable to attend. Persuading delivery drivers to work on Saturdays without additional payment became increasingly difficult, however, and as distribution became ever more fraught, the service ebbed away. FullTime was an attempt to reverse the tide. This is the story of its less-than glorious failure.
