Abstract

Religion has been hailed as both a significant cause of many recent outbreaks of violent conflict and a factor in peace-building efforts at their ends (Moix 2006). Aside from the more usual mediation techniques used in secular conflict resolution (e.g. see Deutsch et al 2006), religious approaches to conflict resolution go beyond merely involving religious leaders to strategies based on sects’ own belief systems.
