Abstract

The articulation of the terms ‘forensic’ and ‘intelligence’ is a challenge, especially because the communities using these terms have long been separated by academic environments and practices. This division is, however, increasingly unproductive in face of the harm perpetrated by crime systems that are proving innovative in today’s information society. By linking models and methods in the search for a more appropriate use of human traceability, forensic intelligence can yield the kind of understanding capable of disrupting those criminal mechanisms.
