Psychopathy increases the likelihood of offending and victimization, but comparatively little is known about linkages to bullying. The current study provides evidence for the importance of psychopathic traits for the development of bullying behavior, but also suggests that all three dimensions of psychopathy (narcissism, impulsivity, and callous–unemotional traits) and conduct problems need to be taken into account in order to understand bullying behavior. Furthermore, impulsivity and the combination of conduct problems and psychopathic traits can also be considered as possible risk factors for the development of victimization. Linking psychopathic traits to bullying behavior and victimization experiences may provide evidence towards the design of interventions aiming to reduce these behaviors.
