Abstract

“Almost all forms of learning involve information that is represented in different forms,” argued van Someren and his co-workers in their introduction to a ground-breaking book on learning and multiple representations (van Someren et al., 1998, p. 1). The authors of this chapter aim to interpret this assertion in relation to teacher development, and attempt to address the complex issue of how teachers learn from multiple representations that are presented using electronic media.
