Abstract

Since the late 1990s, the Hispanic population in the United States has grown exponentially. Hispanics are now the largest minority group in the United States.1 Population estimates from the US Census Bureau state that there are more than 45 million US Hispanics representing approximately 15 percent of the total US population; thus one out of seven persons living in the United States is Hispanic. In addition to their sheer number, Hispanics have a spending power of almost $750 billion annually (Advertising Age, 2007; HispanicAd, 2008).
