Abstract

This book has explored the contribution that audits can make to the evaluation, and then transformation, of both internal and external communications. A great deal of evidence has been presented to show that high quality communication is a crucial indicator of organizational health. Those organizations that neglect it are hampered by poor fitness levels, and bedevilled by injury problems. This hinders their ability to compete in the marketplace. A variety of methods have been proposed that will enable organizations to monitor what they do more accurately, in order to effect substantial improvements. The case study chapters in Part III testify to the opportunities for organizational development afforded by a rigorous scrutiny of current practice.
