Abstract

Many popular songs have been written that reference hazards and disasters because of the compelling imagery that can be conjured with such references. Examples are avalanches of feelings, earthquakes of emotion, tsunamis washing over me, twisting like tornados, calm in the eyes of hurricanes. Though interesting entertainment, such songs do not entice listeners to proactively consider their own vulnerability.
