Abstract

Southeast Ambrym is spoken by about 2000 people in eighteen villages on the southeastern corner of the island of Ambrym in Vanuatu. It is also spoken in a relocated community in peri-urban Mele-Maat on the island of Efate, which contains nearly 40% of the entire speech community. There is no indigenous name for the language.
