This chapter contains four sections, reviewing four issues that deserve our attention in developing and protecting sustainable tourism development projects. The research we present suggests the use and utility of a model (Figure 29.1) of knowledge-based development that is developed by the authors and demonstrated through two case studies. Our project work reviews public sector policy outputs that encourage Third Sector diversification and regeneration, supporting new ventures and encouraging Higher Education (HE) graduate entrepreneurship. Community stakeholders are expected to acquire vocational, transferable, cognitive and intellectual skills to meet contemporary socio-cultural, political, economic and more importantly, educational, expectations.
