Abstract

Ultrashort light pulses are the shortest events ever created. Pulses as short as tens of attoseconds (10−18 s) have been generated, and it is now routine to generate pulses less than 100 fs long. In order to use them effectively and to determine how to make them shorter, less structured, and more stable from pulse to pulse, it is important to be able to measure them.
