Abstract

Absorption is a diffusional mass-transfer operation by which a soluble gaseous component is removed from a gas stream by dissolution in a solvent liquid. 1 A summary of absorption containing a general description, advantages, and disadvantages for the removal of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from gaseous emission streams is provided below. 24
