Abstract

For nearly 50 years, turbidity measurements have been used to perform a wide variety of physical measurements. These include the determination of particle concentration per unit volume when the scattering cross section per particle is known, the determination of particle size (scattering cross section) when the concentration of particles is known [14], and the determination of some of the critical exponents associated with second-order and nearly second-order phase transitions [59].
