Abstract

Dietary guidelines are “recommendations for achieving appropriate diets, and healthy lifestyles.” 1 In this chapter, we examine the similarities, differences, strengths, and weaknesses of some representative examples of dietary guidelines from various regions of the world. The chapter concludes with a review of some innovations and new resources that are now available as adjuncts to the guidelines in many countries.
