Abstract

Chapters 1519 have shown that analyses with missing data generally rest on untestable assumptions and that sensitivity analysis is required to explore sensitivity of results to departures from these untestable assumptions. We have also seen that a principled approach to sensitivity analysis involves fitting a model containing one or more sensitivity parameters which express the extent of departure from the assumption made in the main analysis. These sensitivity parameters are typically unidentified by the data and must be specified by the data analyst.
