Abstract

Previous chapters of this Handbook have covered a number of aspects of the principles and methods of experimental research. Before going any further, it is appropriate to now discuss how research actually gets initiated. In addition, at the end of this chapter the final step of the scientific method is covered, communicating research findings through a written research report, because of its close relationship with the writing of a research proposal, which takes place when initiating research.
