Abstract

In 1909, Altenkirch1 first derived the conversion efficiency of a TE generator based on the constant property model (CPM) and identified the desired attributes for three physical properties. Good TE materials have a large Seebeck coefficient (S), low electrical resistivity (ρ), and low thermal conductivity (κ). In 1957, Ioffe2 optimized the TE efficiency as
