Abstract

The Schrodinger’s equations were used to develop the band theory of semiconductors. Graphite’s (the graphene’s precursor) electronic band structure was worked out to demonstrate the capabilities of solid state physics 1 . More recently, the Dirac approach (utilizing the symmetry of graphene) has explained (at least to some extent) the graphene’s unique electronic properties, such as high electron mobility among others.
