Abstract

The next step in learning about graphene may be a more detailed analysis of its atomic structure. Graphene consists of carbon atoms which is the basic unit for numerous organic and non-organic forms: diamonds, graphite, biological tissues to name a few. The carbon atom’s characteristics may be described by the Schrodinger equation: (4.1) [ − ( h 2   /   2 m ) ∇ 2 + U ( r ) ] Ψ = E Ψ ; where the first term in parenthesis is the kinetic energy, U(r) – the potential energy; E Ψ = the total energy.
