Abstract

Computer-based testing (CBT) offers many innovative item types, but there are still challenges when designing software systems and psychometric procedures for consistently collecting and processing the intended measurement information. This chapter explores some of the subtle design and technical psychometric challenges associated with introducing these technology-enhanced (TE) items.
