Abstract

Food–Energy–Water (FEW) nexus refers to recognizing deep interconnections between resources and managing them in an integrated manner. FEW nexus has been responsible for mobilizing large-scale funding and interests across both policy and academic community at an interdisciplinary level. This chapter provides a primer on the role of FEW nexus within sustainable development agenda, criticism of the FEW nexus, and a discussion of various quantitative approaches for tackling FEW nexus issues in disparate contexts. Finally, an overview of key factors influencing method and model selection for FEW nexus analysis is provided.
