Abstract

Melanoma is one of the most aggressive types of skin cancer, having a low survival rate, easy to relapse, and a notorious high multidrug resistance. In this chapter, we intend to elucidate the possibility to treat melanoma skin cancer using the development of nanofibers by advanced electrospinning process. We present a brief introduction of the pathogenesis of melanoma, a concise compilation electrospun mats, and their application in the biomedical field. The composite electrospun mats work as drug delivery system, which can be made by the combination of different polymers, with anticancer activity for melanoma skin.
