Abstract

Pharmaceutical manufacturing is performed in a rapidly changing regulatory and technological environment (1). However, the underlying engineering principles on which it is based continue to be well understood and fundamental to the design and implementation of the operations required to develop a drug product. All operations are based on the principles of fluid flow, heat, and mass transfer which are described in this monograph.
