Abstract

Interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) analysis allows the mapping of coastal wetlands under all weather conditions. InSAR intensity and coherence images are used to characterize wetland types, extents, conditions, and their changes while InSAR phase images can map water level changes to infer water dynamics over coastal wetlands at an unprecedented spatial resolution between two data acquisition times. InSAR analysis of fully polarized radar imagery has the potential to image vegetation structure and characteristics of coastal wetlands.
