Abstract

Methane is a radiatively active trace gas that plays an important role for atmospheric chemistry and the energy balance of the Earth. Because of the substantial contribution from natural wetlands, knowledge about the dynamics leading to methane formation and emission is of great importance to understand how these ecosystems interact with the climate and how they would respond to climate change.
