Abstract

The prime advantage of the new, highly toxic insecticides and other related pesticides is that they do not persist in the environment. Reducing the persistence of pesticides in the environment offers many advantages in terms of public health and the environment; however, the public health and environmental threat from the new highly toxic pesticides remain a major problem. In addition to humans, other nontarget species continue to suffer from the use of pesticides.
